The Opportunity

We are seeking a Finance Director – Nordics to provide financial leadership across the Nordic cluster (Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Iceland). This role will act as a strategic business partner to the Nordic and Swedish Leadership Teams, shaping strategy, driving performance, and ensuring strong financial stewardship to maximize long-term portfolio value and patient impact.
The Finance Director will lead a team of 4 finance professionals responsible for financial planning, resource allocation, and performance management, while ensuring compliance, strong governance, and continuous improvement. The role also plays a key part within the EMEA Mid-Sized Markets (MSM) finance organization, contributing to cross-market collaboration, capability building, and finance transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Business Partnering & Leadership
- Serve as a core member of the Nordic and Swedish Leadership Teams, shaping and influencing business strategy and execution
- Provide financial insights to drive value creation, competitive performance, and sustainable growth
- Partner with commercial, medical, and market access teams to support go-to-market strategies and resource allocation decisions
- Bring an external perspective (healthcare systems, payers, competitors) to strengthen decision-making
- Actively contribute to the MSM and EMEA finance network, fostering collaboration and sharing best practices
2. Financial Planning & Performance Management
- Lead end-to-end financial planning processes, including Business Plans, IBP cycles, forecasts, and long-range plans (SRFP)
- Drive scenario planning, driver-based analytics, and performance transparency
- Monitor and steer business performance across key metrics (revenue, OPEX, headcount, cash flow, working capital, CAPEX, GTN)
- Provide clear insights on risks and opportunities, with actionable recommendations
- Champion continuous improvement in forecast accuracy and resource allocation effectiveness
3. Governance, Risk Management & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with J&J financial policies, SOX, Code of Business Conduct, and healthcare compliance requirements (HCBI)
- Oversee adherence to local Nordic regulatory and statutory requirements
- Identify and proactively manage financial and operational risks
- Embed strong internal controls and governance practices across the organization
4. Finance Transformation & Capability Building
- Lead and support finance transformation and simplification initiatives within the Nordic cluster and MSM
- Drive adoption of digital tools (incl. AI), advanced analytics, and automation to enhance insights and efficiency
- Promote best practice sharing and continuous improvement across markets
- Strengthen finance capabilities to support evolving business needs (e.g., market access, data-driven decision making)
5. People Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead and develop the Nordic finance team, building a high-performing, collaborative, and inclusive culture.
- Attract, retain, and develop diverse finance talent aligned with future capability needs
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and career development opportunities
- Collaborate across regional and global finance teams (e.g., GS, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, GAA)
- Contribute to broader finance talent development initiatives across EMEA
Qualifications & Experience
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CFA) preferred
- Minimum 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience in a multinational, matrix organization
- Proven track record in business partnering, strategic planning, and delivering financial results
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical/healthcare environment, including market access and payer dynamics
- Demonstrated experience leading high-performing teams and driving change/transformation
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to translate financial insights into business actions
- High level of integrity, compliance mindset, and ability to manage complexity and ambiguity
- Digital acumen (analytics, automation, data-driven decision making)
- Fluent English; Nordic language(s) are an advantage

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:
kr882,000.00 - kr1,521,450.00Benefits:
In addition to base pay, we offer the following benefits*: an annual bonus with set target (% of pay) depending on pay grade / location, where the actual amount is based on the employees’ and companies’ performance of the previous calendar year, or sales commissions.
